Connecting Parents & Pupils Through Dynamic Reception Media

Lyndhurst Preparatory School, located in Camberley, Surrey, provides education for young pupils. Seeking an engaging method to welcome visitors and highlight student life to parents waiting in the school reception area, the school deployed Navaho's InformALL digital signage platform.
The challenge
Traditional static noticeboards and printed photo displays in reception areas quickly become outdated and fail to capture the vibrant daily activities of pupils. The school needed a low-maintenance, reliable media system that staff could quickly update with photos, videos, and announcement slides without requiring specialist IT skills.
The approach
Expanding on their existing relationship with Navaho (who supplied the school's network administration server in 2001), Lyndhurst installed a InformALL digital signage engine connected to a large display screen in the main reception lobby:
- Engaging content loops: showcases photo slideshows of academic trips, school plays, sports days, and visiting performers.
- Student multimedia integration: features student-produced videos, including a media project on daily school life created by Year 6 pupils.
- Simple asset management: allows school administrative staff to upload new media files quickly, keeping content fresh and relevant.
The result
- Enhanced parent engagement: created a focal point in reception that fosters parent-school community discussions during pickup times.
- Reliable performance: delivered seamless, continuous operation from morning switch-on to evening switch-off for years without technical issues.
"The presentations have been a great hit with the parents, who love to see their own children on the screen... InformALL has worked seamlessly from switch-on to switch-off since purchase."
