These displays have been engineered to be truly smart - performing with low energy draw whilst offering high definition and superb legibility, with full colour and the ability to display a wide range of media from images to animations, videos to graphic displays.

LCD Technology

Fast to update, easy to read and truly eye-catching, Navaho’s unique displays make the most of the benefits of LCD technology.

Gone are the days of printed signs and clunky LED lettering, operators can ensure that all bus signage is clear, clean and legible – all whilst maintaining brand guidelines.

The screens also take into account power efficiency, making them perfect for use in electric vehicles.

Central Management

The content and performance of the product is managed centrally through remote updates using a web application. This means that information can even be updated whilst a driver is out on route*, without having to delay the timetable or distract the driver. There is no longer a reliance on updates of paper blinds or concern over how to relay important information that can affect an entire route (for example a safety announcement or delay information.)

Content

The on-screen content can be managed according to user administration rights, thanks to Navaho’s proprietary content management web application. Administrators can restrict access to updates according to user, further securing information display.

Content can be updated on the fly, or scheduled and set according to date, time, route or even weather conditions, allowing the ultimate in flexibility and planning. Layout of content can also be designed according to need and aesthetic requirements, allowing adherence to marketing and brand guidelines.

Diagnostics

Remote diagnostics mean that Navaho’s team of highly trained technicians can quickly act to provide support remotely. The system also offers remote visualisation, so that a representation of the bus display can be viewed at any time, in real time.

Performance

The Navaho web application provides insight into performance and bus blind status. Administrators can access reports on screens and vehicle performance including uptime and online status. Product status such as screen temperature is also shown.

Interfacing & Depot Maintenance

The Navaho Passenger Information Solution can connect to a variety of existing onboard bus data systems or external modules and applications to provide enhanced informational awareness.

The Navaho Passenger Information Solution can also combine with a number of external modules to provide additional operational and informational data. For example, camera sensors can be added to provide live passenger numbers and seating distribution on double deck vehicles. This can help passengers find seating at busy times or even provide operators with route viability data.

The Solution can also provide location information when paired with a GPS module if the bus does not already carry an AVL.

Using APIs Social Media updates, RSS Feeds and even live TV broadcasts can be displayed with the Navaho solution. This opens up a unique way to share operator messaging and company branding in a way that passengers can relate to and interact with.

Whilst in Maintenance mode, the Display system can provide operational information* to facilitate depot teams and ensure that buses are easily identified according to maintenance needs.

Safety Messages

A growing use for digital signage systems is the use of electronic Health and Safety notice boards to ensure regulatory messages are displayed to all passengers and staff on site.

The Navaho Passenger Information Display can also increase awareness for those on the roads alongside operators’ fleets, as it can display information regarding the road situation ahead and the movements of the bus.

The system also provides the ability to add value in terms of operational management, as driver numbers and bus running numbers can be added. The depot and maintenance features ensure that fleet management time is used in the most efficient way, as vehicles needing attention are instantly apparent.

Navaho engineers its own software and designs the screen housings and enclosures to fit seamlessly with the vehicle to which it is to be fitted, ensuring that the internal and external screens complement the overall bus design and function to the highest degree.
